All Cress Gallery events are free and open to campus and community.

Cress events range from artist's lectures, presentations, panel discussions, workshops, and gallery talks as well as informal receptions that provide an opportunity for one on one conversation with the artists in association with exhibitions of their work.

August 21 - October 4 2018

The Cress opens its 2018-2019 academic season with "Selections VIII", an exhibition of work created after the year 2000 by artists of national and international reputation: Matthew Deleget, Gao Lei, Joe Ramiro Garcia, Kahn & Selesnick, Okay Mountain, and more. Selected to expose conceptual and material process in a broad range of media, all works are part of the UTC Permanent Collection of Art. Note: The Cress will be open during its regular hours noted below, but will be closed Monday Sept. 03 for the holiday.

April 03 - 27, 2018

The Cress Gallery and the UTC Department of Art announce the 2018 BFA Senior Thesis Exhibitions! Each Show opens with Student Presentations at Cadek Hall, 725 Oak Street at 5:00pm, followed by a Reception at the Cress 6:00pm. Show One opens April 03, and runs through April13. Show Two opens April 17, and runs through April 27. Visitors on Opening Days may park free after 4:00pm in UTC Lots 10, 12, &18. The Cress continues KAZUKO an exhibition of NEW work by 2018 Diane Marek Visiting Artist Michi Meko!  UTC Spring Break hours! From March 12 - March 16, the Gallery will be open 10:00am - 4:00pm. Plenty of street parking should be available. Please note that UTC Lots will be patrolled during the Break. Weekend hours will continue Saturday & Sunday March 10-11 and March 17-18, 1:00pm - 4:00pm with free parking in any UTC Lot not marked "24 hour reserved."

The doors have opened for the 2018 UTC Department of Art Annual Juried Student Exhibition. This year's Juror, Melissa Vandenberg, artist and Associate Professor of Art at Eastern Kentucky University, returns Tuesday January 23, 2018, to present a public lecture about her own practice at 5:30pm in the Benwood Auditorium, Room 230 UTC EMCS Bldg., located directly across Vine Street from the Fine Arts Center, followed by a reception for the exhibition at 6:30pm and the Student Awards Ceremony at the Cress in the lobby of the Fine Arts Center!!
